オランダのクリエイティブシーンを引率しているメディアのひとつ、オランダのファッション＆ライフスタイル・マガジン「ブレンド」。ジュリアン・バッカーはその出版者である。Jurriaan Bakker is the publisher of Blend Magazine, the leading Dutch fashion, arts and lifestyle magazine.オランダ語で展開している雑誌とは別に、そのオンライン版ではオランダ語と英語でアムステルダム発クリエイティブ情報を世界に発信、オランダと世界のクリエイティブワールドを繋ぐ橋を掛けている。
自己紹介をお願いします。
「ブレンド・マガジン」の発行人のジュリアン・ベーカーといいます。「ブレンド・マガジン」は、オランダの新しいファッション、アート、ライフスタイルを取り扱う雑誌で、若者、クエイティブに携わる人、流行に敏感な人、そして世界中のファッション、ライフスタイル、メディア、アート、デザインなどに関心を持っている人をターゲットにしています。「ブレンド・マガジン」は、21世紀のエッジな文化の成長に注目し、印象的な写真と共に知的で徹底したインタビューやレポートを掲載しています。
アムステルダムについて教えて下さい。また、ご自身や仕事をする上でアムステルダムに暮らすことについてどう思いますか？
キーワードは「クリエイティビティ」です。アムステルダムは、オランダで最もクリエイティブな都市です。オランダは国際色が強いので、旅行客や移民たちにとっても居心地が良い国だと思います。アムステルダムには、クリエイティブな起業家も沢山いますね。
あなたの好きな場所をいくつか教えてください。また、選んだ理由も教えて下さい。
デ・パイプにあるお気に入りのレストラン「センス」で、親しい仲間たちとよくディナーを食べます。セーレンダムストリート26番にあります。隣には、素晴らしい本と家具が揃っている小さなレストラン兼ショップがあります。オーナーの１人のイリーナはマケドニア出身、もう１人はドイツ出身のユージンで、２人とも本当に良い人たちです。子供のノアとジュリアンに会えれば、一日中幸せな気分になれます。不思議なことに、こんな小さなお店でも、ここにくれば世界中の知らない人に出会うことが出来るんです。他には、エランド運河沿いにあるデニムショップの「テニュー・デ・ニーム」です。
アムステルダムのアートシーン、デザインシーンについてどう思いますか？
だんだん良くなってきていると思います。「フォルクスクラント」や「クラブ・アップ」、ウィボートストリートには新しいクラブなど新しいイニシアチブもいくつか出てきています。アムステルダムの北の方は、２、３年でブルックリンのようになるでしょう。でも、アムステルダムのアートシーンが成長する余地はまだまだありますね。

My name is Jurriaan Bakker and i’m the publisher of Blend Magazine. Blend Magazine is the leading Dutch fashion, arts and lifestyle magazine that caters to a growing audience of young, original creatives, early adaptors and those who are generally interested in the worlds of fashion, lifestyle, media, art and design. As such, Blend Magazine is seen as a Dutch fashion and lifestyle magazine that combines intelligent, in-depth and well-written interviews with striking photography and reports that feature developments on the edge of 21st century culture.
Please tell us about your city, and how about living in your city for yourself/activity.
Creativity is the keyword! Amsterdam is the most creative city within the Netherlands. The Netherlands is a country with an international outlook, where foreign visitors and expatriates quickly feel at home. Amsterdam is a tremendous city with a lot of creative entrepreneurs.
Please tell us a favourite places in the city you live and work in.
I always have dinners with special guest in SENSES. This lovely place is in DE PIJP area. Located on Saerendamstraat 26. This diningroom restaurant is next to a restauarnt also a little shop with the most cool books and furniture. Everything is for sale. The owners are the best hosts of the area. Irina is from Macedonie and Jurgen is from Germany. Together with their lovely kids Noa and Julian are they bringing the best day/ night of your life. There’s some magic in this concept because you always meet new people from all over the world in this little place.
There is another favorite place, Tenue de Nîmes, a denim shop in Elandsgracht.
What do you think about the art/design scene in the city?
It is becoming a little bit better. There are some initiatives like Volkskrant building, a new club in Wibautstraat and CLUB UP. Amsterdam North will be the good days of Brooklyn within a couple of years. There’s also the space to let grow the Amsterdam artscene.
