I’m a fan of Dolly Rogers: a creative agency that loves to tell a hell of a good story, as also their website mentions. Dolly = Jennette Snape (1976) and Rogers = Chris Costuna (1980), both originally from Australia僕はドリー・ロジャースのファンだ。ドリー・ロジャースは、そのウェブサイトでも言及されているように、いい話を面白く語ることを好むクリエイティブ・エージェンシー。元々オーストラリア出身のドリーことジャネッテ・スネイプとロジャースことクリス・コストゥナの出会いは現在も活動の拠点を置くアムステルダム。彼らは言う『私たちは2008年、財政危機の最中にドリー・ロジャースを設立しました。普通の人々はそのような状況でビジネスを始めないでしょうが、私たちは危険を冒すことが大好きで、従来の方法でものごとを進めないんです。』

ドリー：私たちはドリー・ロジャースです! また、私は「ボヘミアン博物館」（150個以上のワインの木箱と100人以上のアーティストで作られた移動型の美術館）の共同設立者です。それは遊牧民的な博物館で、私たちは３カ月ごとに大規模でカラフルなパレードと共にアムステルダムを端から端まで移動します。６週間ごとイベントを主催するので、すごく忙しいです。アムステルダムを訪れる予定のある人は、イベント開催情報を必ず私たちのブログでチェックしてくださいね。
ロジャース：僕は夏のクリスマスが過ごせるオーストラリアに帰省するのでその荷造りがちょうど終わり、ワクワクしています。
あなた方は元々オーストラリアの出身ですが、アムステルダムに住み慣れるのに時間はかかりましたか？また、アムステルダムの特別なところは何ですか?
ドリー：私は、アムステルダムに来たその日に友人ができました！ 初めは、オランダのシステムに慣れなければなりませんが、常に自分を助けてくれるとてもフレンドリーな人々と出会うでしょう。アムステルダムが特別なのは、不思議で、素晴らしくて、クリエイティブで興味深い人々ばかりだからです。

アムステルダムに移り住んだ後に起こった一番注目するべきことは何ですか?
ドリー：アムステルダムで刺激的で新しい文化的、芸術的発展の一旦を担う機会を私に与えくれた、ドリー・ロジャースとボヘミアン博物館を創立したことです。
ロジャース：アムステルダムでは毎週のように多くのすばらしい経験ができます。それが私がここに滞在すると決めた理由です。
あなたのお気に入りのアムステルダムのスポットはどこですか?
ドリー：アムステルダム・オーストはこの街の私が大好きな要素を取り込んでいるところで、特にリンネウス通りにある一年中毎日がクリスマスのような一風かわったカフェ「Ruk en Pluk」がお気に入り。
ロジャース：僕は市場（北市場、アルバート・クイップ、ダッペル市場）がとても好き。都市に存在するすべての文化が混在する素敵な場所だし、すばらしい食料を手に入れる最適な場所でもあります。また、アルバート・クイップにある「カフェ・トコ」と「ビネン・バウテン」も、僕のセカンドハウスのみたいで好きです。そして村にある最もクールなギャラリー「W139」です。

Translation: Yuya Masumoto, but only met each other living in Amsterdam. “We founded Dolly Rogers in 2008, in the midst of the financial crisis. Most folk wouldn’t start a business in that sort of climate, but we love to take risks and don’t really do things the traditional way.”
How are you and what’s your recent activity?
D: We’re happy folks here at Dolly Rogers! I’m also co-founder of the Museum of the Bohemian, a traveling art museum made up of over 150 wooden wine boxes and more than 100 artists. It’s a nomadic museum and we move it every three months with a big colourful parade through Amsterdam. It keeps us super busy as we host an event every 6 weeks, so if you’re visiting Amsterdam, be sure to check our blog for upcoming events.
R: I’m great and just finished packing for my trip back home to Australia for a bikini Christmas.
You’re both originally from Australia… Did it take long to get used to living her and what makes Amsterdam special?
D: I made friends on my first day in Amsterdam! In the beginning you have to get used to the Dutch system, but you’ll always find super friendly people who will help you out. It’s definitely all the weird, wonderful, creative and colourful people who make Amsterdam special.
R: It takes a few months to get your bearings, but after a while it becomes so easy to get around. The special thing about Amsterdam is that you feel that you’re in a big village rather than a city.
What’s the most remarkable thing that happened after moving here?
D: Starting Dolly Rogers and the Museum of the Bohemian, which have given me the opportunity to be part of exciting new cultural and artistic developments in Amsterdam.
R: There are some many great things that you experience every week in Amsterdam, that’s the reason why I decided to stay here.
What are your favourite Amsterdam spots?
D: Amsterdam Oost captures all the flavours of the city that I love, especially the quirky cafe Ruk en Pluk on the Linnaeusstraat, where it’s Christmas everyday of the year!
R: I love the markets (Noordermarkt, Albert Cuyp and Dappermarkt). They are nice melting pots of all the cultures that are in the city and the BEST place to get some great food. Also love Cafe Toko on the Albert Cuyp and cafe Binnen Buiten as they are like my second homes. And W139, the coolest gallery in the village.
