高い天井と、いくつかのテーブルが置かれた真っ白な店内には、ファッション、食べ物、コーヒー、そしてアートなどが生き生きと並べされている。ここを運営しているのは、２人のエネルギッシュな若い女性、テッサ・ヴァン・ヘルウェイネンと、ヨリンデ・ウェスホフだ。コットンケーキには、完璧なカプチーノの泡、エッジの効いた新しいブランド、良質でオーガニックな食べ物、そして柔らかいファブリック、アートなどもあり、彼女たちのベルリン、メルボルン、ロンドン、ニューヨークへの旅と発見の情熱的なかたまりだ。
彼女たちは、好きなものすべてを、お客様にベストな形で売るように心がけている。発掘して、惚れ込んだもののすべてを、お店で展示。「よくあるモノ」ではなく、はじめて目にした瞬間から一目惚れしてしまうときの気持ちを、持ち続けるように努力している。
このお店では、幅広い商品を取り扱っている。ベーシックで柔らかい服、タッシェンの本からバリのエコな綿の織物、革のバッグからノートパソコンケース、そしてパリのサングラスまで。そこには境界線なんて存在しない。コレクションは、世界中から届く商品で頻繁に更新されている。
コットンケーキの店内には、本を読んだり、展示を見たり、ノートパソコンで仕事をしたり、友達とまったり日曜ブランチができるような小さなスペースがある。メニューには、アムステルダム最高のコーヒーショップ、トゥー・フォー・ジョイの新鮮な豆を使ったおいしいコーヒー、ヘルシーな朝食や、ランチのオプション、そして手作りのケーキなどがある。サンドイッチはスペルト小麦を使ったパンと、ベジタリアンやグルテン・フリーにこだわる人にとってもやさしい、豊富なメニューが準備されている。
コットンケーキでは、若くて将来のクリエイティブ層のためのアーティスティックなプラットフォーム「PUPコンセプト」とのコラボレーションワークがあり、期間限定で展示が行われている。

Translation: Mio Ota, among a quite interesting variety of caffees and restaurante, you can find COTTONCAKE, a different concept store.
In this completely white space with high ceilings and little tables, many things live: Fashion, food, coffee and art .The mentors of the project are two young and energic girls: Tessa van Herwijnen and Jorinde Westhoff. COTTONCAKE is the synthesis of their passion for travelling and discovering; for cappuccinos with perfect froth; for edgy, renewing brands; for fine, organic food; for the softest fabrics; for detail; for art; for Berlin, Melbourne, London and New York.
They work to have all their favourite stuff for sale at the store, giving the best to the customer. They showcase everything they’ve found and fallen in love with. They try not to settle for “just another product”, but continuously search for those things giving that love‐at‐first‐sight feeling.
The shop features a wide range of products. From edgy festival outfits, to super soft basics. From Taschen books, to Balinese eco cotton plaids. From leather bags and laptop cases, to Parisian sunglasses. There are no boundaries. The collection is frequently updated with new products from all over the world.
Inside COTTONCAKE, you’ll find a little place to read a book, view the changing expositions, work behind your laptop, or have a lazy Sunday morning brunch with friends. The menu features good coffee, made using Two For Joy’s – the best coffee store in Amsterdam – super fresh beans, healthy breakfast and lunch options, and homemade cakes. Sandwiches are served on organic spelt bread and there’s enough choice for vegetarians or those who eat gluten free.
COTTONCAKE works In collaboration with PUP Concepts, an artistic platform for the young and promising creative crowd of the future, displaying temporary exhibitions.
