On El Salvador Street, right in the heart of Palermo, there is a special store: Maria Cher. It is the entrepreneurship of a young womanサルバトールストリートにあるマリア・シェールは、独自のスタイルの洋服を作りたいと言うマリア・シェールニアジョブスキーが自らの手で作り上げたお店。本店は、チリ人建築家のマティアス・クロッツとエドガルド・ミノンドが手掛けた。
自由な女性たちが自信に満ち溢れた表現ができるようにとブランドを立ち上げ、マリア・シェールを着ることでダイナミックな生活を送って欲しいというのが彼女の願いである。
コレクションのために、マリアはロックンロールやダンスなどを参考にしている。洋服に往年のロックスターの名前が付けられたりしているのはそのためだ。
マリアはかつてはＣＭや映画に出演する女優だった。ロンドンのファッションスクールでデザインや写真の勉強に励み、自由でエレガントな現在のスタイルを築き上げた。現在、手作りで高品質な商品を提供することをテーマに、ナジョブスキーという名で、支店の進出が進行中である。

The store — the headquarters of the brand — is an architectural piece, the work of Chilean architects Mathías Klotz and Edgardo Minond. Ochre-coloured walls and transparencies — glazed walls — broad changing rooms and coat stands are the frame for the avant-garde items.
The idea of the brand is to create durable clothing that represents the spirit of a free woman, which transmits the feeling of calmness and confidence in itself.
The goal of the brand is to dress different kinds of women, who fluctuate, with a dynamic life and who try to express themselves through their garments.
For this collection, María got her inspiration from rock and roll, the eighties and dance. Therefore, her clothes have been named after old rock stars or local figures.
The hot topics in the Autumn 07 collection are tight trousers — in their “stone” version (66USD) and “dark” (73USD) made of blue and black denim respectively. Another special is the “Watts” — name of a bass player in the 70s — printed sleeveless T-shirt, available in the leopard animal print version or the stripped version — with daring pink and green shades (42USD). The “Pink” shirt (121USD), the “Paez” shirt, the classical long black or white shirt with the seams in out-of-the-ordinary places (70USD), the “Depeche” Bermuda shorts (66USD) and the “Jones” coat (186USD) are other items that can’t be avoided.
Maria’s career — she was an actress in commercials and film. She has done design and photography courses in the prestigious Central Saint Martins London fashion school — shows in the spirit of the clothes she makes: free, elegant, feminine and fun. A formula that has reached the public and has led to branches opening all over the city. At present a new line is being developed, called Najovsky, which aims at giving priority to author design, with handmade items of high quality made of different fabrics.
