A broad culture complex, Sapporo Art Park has the Sculpture Garden with 7.5 hectare lands since 1986. Both national and international artists actually visit there「札幌芸術の森野外美術館」は森の中を歩きながら点在する彫刻を肌で感じることができるユニークな美術館。札幌市郊外に位置する「札幌芸術の森」の中に存在し、7.5ヘクタールの敷地内で、現代を代表する彫刻家の作品を見ることができる。1986年の開館以来、彫刻作品も周囲の木々とともに芸術の森の自然の中で過ごしてきた。
現在野外美術館には、北海道出身の安田侃「間」、砂澤ビッキ「四つの風」、本田明二「道標一けものを背負う男」をはじめ、北海道ゆかりの山内壮夫「浮遊」や佐藤忠良の作品群、国際的に活躍するダニ・カラヴァン「隠された庭への道」（写真）、グスタフ・ヴィーゲランの作品など64作家73点の彫刻が展示されている。
敷地内に2008年9月にオープンした「佐藤忠良記念子どもアトリエ」では、ブロンズ彫刻や素描などの展示室、子どもたちを中心とする市民が創作活動を体験できるワークショップルーム、佐藤忠良氏が挿絵を描いている「おおきなかぶ」などの絵本や関連図書を閲覧できる図書コーナーを備えた「体験型ギャラリー施設」がある。
また、札幌芸術の森美術館では、国内外の作家の素晴らしい美術展が開催されている他、敷地内には木工や染色、陶芸や版画などの講座も受けられる工房も設けている。さらに滞在型のアトリエ施設もあり、予約すれば誰でも利用することができる。
札幌芸術の森は、子供から大人まで誰と来ても一日中楽しむことができる、自然とアートがコラボレートした北海道ならではの素晴らしい施設だ。

Let’s blend in with the nature in the forest with fluffy cloud, grassy carpet, creek and pond to enjoy the Sculpture Garden. Even wild animals like a fox and a squirrel are living there. Feel free to visit for picnic, dating, walking, taking a nap, and seeing sculptures, which are also actually living and enjoying the nature under the sky.
