Eating pizza in Buenos Aires is an adventure. Pizza flavours are surprising and have the clear hallmark of the influence of Italian culture in Argentina. パレルモ地区にあるサンタ・フェ通りとゴドイ・クルス通りの賑やかな交差点にあるのが「ケンタッキー」。通りからは24時間休み無く次々とピザがオーブンへ入れられ、焼き上がりが取り出される様子を覗く事ができる。
モッツァレラ、アンチョビとニンニクと生のトマトスライスがのったナポリタン風のこの店独自のフッガツェッタピザ、ハムと胡椒、プロヴォローネ・チーズなど味は多様。つやつやして色とりどり、脂がのって美味しそう、という本場のピザの代名詞的存在がこのケンタッキーのピザである。
最近はこういった類のピザに人気が集まり、それにつれて支店の数も増えてきた。今では町のあちこちでケンタッキーのピザを味わう事ができるようになった。しかしやはりこの店の真髄が堪能出来るのは、サンタ・フェ通りとゴドイ・クルス通りの交差点にある本店だろう。ここではウェイターは20年前と変わらず、お客は昔からの常連からおしゃれな若者まで幅広い。

In the noisy corner of Santa Fe Ave. and Godoy Cruz St. – Palermo – you will find Kentucky. From the street outside it is possible to see that the place never rests: pizzas go into and come out of the oven 24 hours a day.
Mozzarella, stuffed Fuggazetta – a special recipe of the house – with anchovies, with garlic and fresh tomato slices (Napolitana), Ham and Peppers, Provolone, are but a few of the delicious options. Kentucky is the ultimate referent of real pizza: bright and colourful, greasy, irresistible.
It is possible to enjoy Kentucky’s pizza in several places around the city; nowadays, there are several branches due to the growing public fanaticism for these pizzas. However, only in the original headquarters – the one located in the corner of Godoy Cruz St. and Santa Fe Ave. – it is possible to see the real spirit of this pizza parlour where the waiters are the same as 20 years ago and the diners range from traditional customers to stylish youngsters. Kentucky offers an experience worth tasting.
