Café “chano-ma,” located inside the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse, offers a relaxing atmosphere that is unlike others. The concept of this café restaurant is “the modern ocha-no-ma (home).” 横浜赤レンガ倉庫の中にあるカフェレストラン「chano-ma」（チャノマ）は、ひと味違ったくつろぎを提供している。お店のコンセプトは「現代のお茶の間」。音にこだわった空間のなかでゆったりと食事と音楽が楽しめる。
人気の席は靴を脱いであがる「小上がり席」と横浜の夜景が見える「バルコニー席」。小上がり席は、ベッドの上で食事をする感覚で、寝そべってデザートを食べたり、お茶を飲んでリラックスしたり、おもいおもいにくつろげる。バルコニー席からは、観覧車やベイブリッジが見え、夜は夜景も楽しめる。また夏の花火大会の際にも特等席となり、席の予約は抽選となるほどの人気ぶり。
「現代のお茶の間」とあって、お茶の種類は日本茶からアジアンティーまで豊富に取り揃えている。抹茶玄米茶や、しょうがほうじ玄米茶、ライチ茶、仙桃などいろいろな種類を試してみて欲しい。人気のランチはパンの食べ放題とドリンクがセットになる。ビーフシチューやグラタン、生パスタなどメインの料理をひとつ選び、ライ麦、ごま、いちじく、クロワッサンなどのパンが好きなだけ食べられる。
実はchano-maは、週末祝前日は赤レンガ倉庫のなかで唯一朝５時まで営業している。深夜に終電がなくなった時や、週末のドライブ帰りなど、ゆったり夜カフェを楽しんでみるのもおすすめだ。

Popular seats here are the “koagari seats,” for which patrons take off their shoes, and the “balcony seats” offering views of Yokohama at night. The koagari seats provide a place to kick back and drink tea, eat desserts while lying down, and order meals as if you were sprawled across a double bed. From the balcony seats, the night views are beautiful with the large Ferris wheel and the Bay Bridge in sight. These seats are prime location for the summer fireworks festival, and they become so popular that reservations are made through a lottery system.
As the “modern ocha-no-ma” or home, chano-ma has a wide variety of cha or tea, ranging from Japanese green tea to Asian teas. Matcha genmaicha (finely milled green tea with roasted brown rice), houjicha (roasted green tea) with ginger, laichi tea, xian tao tea, and the many other tea options are all worth tasting. The café’s popular lunch set comes with a drink and unlimited order of bread. Along with one of the main dishes—which include beef stew, gratin, and fresh pasta—you can eat as much rye, sesame, date breads, croissants, and other types of bread as you want.
Chano-ma is the only eatery that is open until 5 in the morning inside the Red Brick Warehouse. It is a perfect place to relax after you miss the night’s last train or on your way home from a weekend drive.
