At the end of 2002, alter having worked for 20 years for different clothing brands, Martín Egozcue opened ‘Félix’ his own men’s clothes project. Its proposal is quite different from that in other men’s clothes2002年末、マーティン・エゴスクエは様々なファッションブランドで20年間経験を積んだ後、彼自身の手によるメンズ・ファッションブランド「フェリックス」を立ち上げた。フェリックスの他の男性物を扱う店との違いは、シンプルで古典的、そして現代的な要素を一度に持つ点にある。
マーティンがコレクションを制作していく際のインスピレーションも他とはだいぶ違っている。マーティンいわく“祖父母の代のファッション、ブエノスアイレスに昔からある洋服店、そして市場に優れた商品を提供してくれる伝統的な柄の生地製造工場”に想いを馳せるのが好きだという。
彼の服の特徴である簡素さは、色使いや模様選びに顕著に現れている。例えば、ベージュや淡い陰影に黒や青が微かに混ざり合った色使い、更にチェックやストライプの生地が使うなどがそれである。
彼の服に見出されるこういった古典的な精神が、ブエノスアイレスのお洒落な若者たちの間でフェリックスが流行のブランドとなっている所以であり、また他との違いを示している部分なのである。
昨コレクションの中でもおすすめなのが、綿100％のぴっちり体の線に沿ったシャツに、一足一足手作業で作られ各色揃えた水兵風革靴、綿100％ストレートフィットジーンズ、クラシックウォッシュ加工を施したジーンズなどである。
既に数店舗展開しているが、一番お薦めなのはパレルモ店。グルチャガ通りにあり、サンタローザ通りからもすぐである。フェリックスの持つ服の輝きや温か味、良さが十分に発揮され、思わず彼の服を手にとってしまう、そんな場所となっている。

His sources of inspiration at the time of planning a new collection are atypical, ‘We like to reflect upon the way in which our grandparents used to dress, traditional outfitter’s shops in Buenos Aires, classical textile factories, which provide the market with noble items,’ Martín says.
Such specific simplicity in the clothes he makes can be seen in the choice of colours and patterns — beige or pastel shades with a few black or blue touches, checked or striped patterns. It is probably this classical spirit especially realized in the clothes what renders Félix the trendy brand among ‘stylish’ youngsters in Buenos Aires and offers something different.
Some of the must-haves in the last collection are the 100% cotton pin point shirts, the handmade leather nautical shoes available in several colours and the 100% cotton straight-fit jeans, classic wash (which conveys the feeling that the jeans have already been worn).
Although there are several branches, the one in Palermo is one of the nicest: it is located in Gurruchaga Street, a few steps away from Santa Rosa Passage. It is there where the brightness, warmth and good disposition of the clothing items makes the task of choosing what to buy easy.
