In August 1999 Hotel Design Suites Buenos Aires was opened in the area of Recoleta, a block away from Santa Fe Avenue, where the best known clothing brands, interior decoration stores and restaurants are located. This hotel’s proposal is to offer the traveller an exclusive contemporary urban atmosphere. The interior decoration is predominantly minimalist, using white as the main colour shade, with details in dry green, earthen and red shades.
The hotel has 58 rooms of three different kinds: Standard (25m2), Suites (50m2) and Junior Suites (35m2). All the rooms have flat screen TV sets, air conditioning, wi-fi and room service. If you are looking for an informal hotel close to the Buenos Aires downtown area and the River, Design Suites is ideal. As well as offering every comfort in its rooms, it has a Resto bar and wine Bar, an art gallery, a pool and a gym.
But that´s not all. The “Art Gallery 5006” has two spaces to show Argentinean contemporary art. One in the Design Suites Hotel´s lobby where there is a great luminous space with a pool on the middle, and at its studio in Palermo Soho. The initiative of this gallery has the purpose of bringing the work of the best contemporary artists closer to the tourists visiting Buenos Aires. The Art Gallery´s Director, Natalia Margiotta, exhibits a great variety of art work and offers to the visitors a welcoming cocktail.
