「金沢アートグミ」は「金沢まちづくり市民研究機構」で2006年から３年間に渡るアートによるコミュニケーションの研究から生まれたアート事業。2009年4月、NPO法人として活動を本格化したKanazawa Art Gummi established on April 2009 as NPO by Kanazawa City Organization for Urban Development and Research。
「アートグミ」の「グミ」は、アートと人をつなぎ「組み」合わせること、お菓子の「グミ」のように色とりどりで不思議な感触を与えること、アートを真剣に考える人による「組」、この３つの意味を込めて名付けられた。
ウェブサイトでは北陸地方のアート・デザインの「今」がわかるガイドサイトとして活動。金沢を中心に北陸の展覧会、ギャラリーを紹介し、人とアートと街のためのコミュニケーションのきっかけ作りを目的としている。
2009年４月、金沢の北國銀行武蔵ヶ辻支店の３階にアートスペースをオープン。建築家の村野藤吾氏設計による昭和初期建築の建物で、３つのアーチとスクラッチタイル張りの外観が特徴的。オープニングでの村野藤吾氏と金沢在住の山本基氏の企画展を始めとし、地元アーティストの企画展、ワークショップ、オリジナルグッズの作成などを予定している。

The website of Art Gummi takes a place of art guidance to introduce artists and art galleries in Hokuriku area.
On April, 2009, it opened art space in the third floor of Hokkoku Bank Musashiga-Tsuji Branch. The building was designed by an architect Togo Murano.
Art Gummi offers local art exhibitions, workshops and producing original goods. It communicates local art and people.
